Overview

The Medical Director provides clinical leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for all psychiatric and medical aspects of the practice. This individual ensures the highest quality of care, promotes clinical excellence, and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards. The Medical Director will supervise psychiatric providers, collaborate with the clinical leadership team, and contribute to program development that advances integrated behavioral health services.

Duties

  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of high-quality psychiatric and medication management services across the agency.
  • Supervise and mentor psychiatric providers (MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs).
  • Review and approve treatment protocols, psychotropic medication guidelines, and prescribing practices.
  • Participate in the recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding of psychiatric providers.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in community mental health or integrated care settings.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., SimplePractice, DrChrono).
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry required.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida (or relevant state).
  • DEA registration and authority to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledgeable in psychiatry practices, including psychotherapy techniques.
  • Compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
