POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for greeting patients, answering the phones, scheduling appointments, and/or "checking out" patients. Answers general questions regarding the clinic, its service offerings, and in doing so demonstrates superb customer service with a patient centered attitude.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Consistently follows practice’s phone scripting and etiquette guidelines with the objective of turning phone inquiries into appointments
- Schedules and confirms appointments
- Checks in and checks out patients
- Understands insurance payment and reimbursement requirements and verifies patient insurance using practices’ guidelines
- Ability to prioritize duties while managing multiple patient and staff interruptions
- Responds professionally to requests and inquiries about the services the practice provides using practice guidelines
- Demonstrates strong and respectful interpersonal and communication skills with patients and colleagues alike
- Understands and follows HIPAA regulations and maintains patient and practice confidentiality
JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Possesses a strong customer service focus
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Experience with OMS and EHR systems, and/or ability to learn and master the practice’s scheduling systems
- Must be proficient computer keyboarding skills as well as in Microsoft Word

The role of the Patient Care Coordinator is to support all aspects of clinical operations including office administrative support, customer/patient service, minor in-office hearing aid repairs, and insurance verification.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to self-start and manage projects, a basic understanding of accounting procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the desire to learn about and promote hearing health care.
We are open MONDAY- THURSDAY from 8am - 5pm. Staff working hours are from 7:30am - 5:30 pm, with a lunch break. This schedules allows us to work a full-time position with a 3 day weekend.
