McNeese State University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as the Clinical Director of the McNeese Autism Program and Assistant Professor of Psychology (Applied Behavior Analysis) in the Department of Psychology and Counseling/College of Nursing and Health Professions. This is a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, non-tenure track position beginning in August (Fall) 2025.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the candidate will hold the rank of Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) in the ABA master’s program, with a 2-2 teaching load. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of scientist-practitioners in the field of ABA through student mentorship, supervision, high-quality instruction, and contributions to research and scholarship in the discipline.

The MAP clinic is an integral part of the ABAI-accredited master’s program in ABA, housed within the Department of Psychology and Counseling. The clinic provides high-quality ABA services to the community while serving as a premier training site for graduate and undergraduate students.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will serve as Clinical Director of our university-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinic and must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCBA-D. This role includes maintaining a 50% clinical practice commitment and collaborating with the Department of Psychology and Counseling’s on-campus, ABAI-accredited master’s program to support experiential learning.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership (50%) – McNeese Autism Program (MAP) Clinical Director

  • Service Delivery: Oversee all ABA services provided through the MAP on-campus clinic, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and ethical standards. Maintain a client caseload, conduct behavioral assessments, develop and monitor behavior intervention plans, and ensure documentation meets insurance and Medicaid requirements. The Clinical Director will oversee undergraduate and graduate students and collaborate with the Coordinator of Clinics to initiate purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Supervision & Management: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to practicum and internship students in an ABAI accredited on-campus master’s program in ABA, as well as staff behavior analysts. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment using behavioral skills training and ethical practice.
  • Program Quality & Development: Set and monitor clinical performance goals, ensure high-quality service delivery, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of ABA best practices. Lead initiatives to expand services (e.g., social skills groups, telehealth) and training opportunities for students.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and participate in community outreach and educational events to promote the MAP clinic and ABA services.
  • Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the Coordinator of Clinics and other administrative staff to manage clinic operations, including scheduling, supply procurement, and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. Serve as the ACE Provider for CEU events.

Academic Faculty Responsibilities (50%) – Clinical Assistant Professor (NTT)

  • Teaching: Teach on-campus graduate and undergraduate courses in ABA, with a standard 2-2 teaching load. Deliver high-quality, in-person instruction aligned with BACB and ABAI standards.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise student research projects and provide practicum/internship supervision in accordance with BACB guidelines.
  • Mentorship: Mentor students in the ABA program and support their professional development as behavior analysts consistent with a scientist-practitioner model.
  • Scholarship & Service: Engage in scholarly activities, including opportunities for collaborative research within the MAP clinic. Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and accreditation efforts. Support ongoing lines of research and/or develop new lines of scholarly research for presentation. Collaborate with the Director of the Applied Behavior Analysis Master’s Program.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a closely related field (ABD considered).
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCBA-D.
  • Must be eligible to supervise.
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Louisiana.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical service delivery, supervision, and teaching in ABA.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, diversity, and student-centered education.
  • Eligibility to serve as an ACE Provider for CEU events is preferred.
