About Job

Therapists at our school will provide individual and group counseling in accordance with the students IEP (Individualized Education Plan). A counseling session will usually last between 30-60 minutes and can be individual or done in a small group setting with middle/high school age students. Therapists utilize such techniques as play therapy, behavior modification, anger management and positive communication skills. Slauson Learning Center (SLC) is a private, non-public school. Our school contains 5 classrooms, each with a maximum of 14 students. Our small size allows us to give proper attention and focus to our students. We strive to maintain our family like atmosphere and great staff camaraderie. The hours for our therapists are 8:00am-2:00pm. SLC is located in Inglewood, CA, approximately 5 minutes east of the 405 freeway. Slauson Learning Center has been in operation and servicing students from the Los Angeles are for the past 40 years. We are in high standing with LAUSD, the state of California and many of the smaller school districts in the LA area. At SLC we pride ourselves on our family like atmosphere and we feel that this creates a more harmonious environment for both staff and students alike. We are proud to say because of our enjoyable work environment and commitment to treating our employees to the highest level possible.
