Job Summary
****Guaranteed Hours/No Cancellations****
Rising Star Sped Academy has a new BCBA position within Special Education. This position is a 7 hour per day position, timings are from 8-3. We have eight amazing BCBAs on our team and are looking forward to hiring a ninth exceptional BCBA!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for the development of a coordinated behavior management program for the student
- Participates in the planning development and implementation of program, procedures and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Plans and provides or supports the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices relative to the management of students’ behaviors, including students with Autism, emotional disturbance, and other disabilities
- Plans and provides, or supports the provision of, positive behavior management interventions and programs for students, and classrooms
- Develops and provides training to, and coordinates the work of behavior technicians and other staff implementing behavior intervention programs
- Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) or Functional Assessments (FA) as appropriate
- Collects and analyzes data as part of the assessment, developing and monitoring behavior recommendations and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Consults with site admins, psychologists, teachers and other specialists in developing, monitoring and evaluating behavior management strategies for special education students
- May work directly with students as a means of training behavior technicians, teachers, and other staff in the positive behavior supports for particular students
- Keeps abreast of current research and information in the areas of behavior management and provides in-service and training for teachers, specialists, behavior technicians and other staff in areas related to behavior management strategies, avoidance of aversive techniques, and managing assaultive behavior
- Attends IEP meetings
- Communicates with staff members and parents
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience:
Minimum three years full-time work experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and knowledge of/experience with Discrete Trial Instruction and other evidence-based techniques.
Minimum two years supervised experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and applications within the school/home setting.
Knowledgeable of IEP Processes and Procedures, as well as school district operations.
Data collection for skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures. - General knowledge of needs and functional programming for students at the preschool, elementary, and secondary levels, and for students with a broad range of functioning levels.
This is a full-time (Monday-Friday) in-person salaried position.
Requirements:
- Current Board Cert. in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) in good standing)
- Must have completed the BACB requirements to supervise RBTs
- Copy of Transcript (Master's Degree in Education or related field)
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Reference (At least two (2) dated within the last 12 months, with one signed by a Supervisor who evaluated you)

Pay: $98,500.00 - $110,000.00 per year
