Residential Aide Position
Job Description:
Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation (GCNSSC) is currently seeking a Residential Aide. In this role, you will serve as a crucial support figure, providing assistance and care to residents within our facility. Your main objective is to cultivate a secure, nurturing, and welcoming atmosphere for residents, fostering their independence and overall welfare.
- Conduct daily/weekly inspections of rooms and beds.
- Accompany clients to appointments as needed.
- Aid in overseeing and enhancing residents' independent living abilities on a daily basis.
- Distribute and log all essential items to residents as needed.
- Log and distribute meals, ensuring proper presentation.
- Mediate conflicts between residents when they arise.
- Assist with overseeing operations at the front desk.
- Handle phone inquiries as required.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the offices.
- Monitor common areas to ensure they are utilized appropriately.
- Collaborate with other building staff to support clients and uphold safety measures
Other duties as needed.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a shelter or residential setting. Demonstrated passion for assisting individuals and families in transitional housing situations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with others. Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and completing necessary paperwork promptly and accurately, with knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols.
Ability to handle sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy, and discretion. Strong organizational abilities, capable of multitasking effectively. Food Protection Certificate will be required. Bilingual proficiency is beneficial.
Must obtain Annual PPD Test. May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified. May be required to become certified in overdose prevention. May be required to participate on ongoing training on De-escalation, Universal precautions, Crisis Intervention, Anti-sexual harassment, emergency response, Conflict Resolution and other trainings to enhance job skills and job safety.
Must be able to work 10 hours (4) four days per week.
1. Sunday to Wednesday 7:00am to 5:00pm;
2. Wednesday to Saturday 1:00pm to 11:00pm

Pay: $18.00 - $19.23 per hour
