Montefiore Medical Center’s outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) has a dedicated team of addiction treatment professionals, including medical providers, nurses, mental health clinicians and substance use counselors, who assist our clients in developing the skills they need to reach their goals.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated counselor to join our Opioid Treatment Program. Counselors work as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary treatment team, and provide individual and group counseling to support clients in their recovery. They will receive ongoing training and supervision in empirically-supported treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. This positions provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in providing high quality services to an underserved population.

This 1199 Union position offers competitive salary and benefits, including tuition benefits.

SATP is also an approved site for the NHSC Substance Use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Program. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for up to $75,000 in loan repayments in exchange for a 3-year service commitment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 1 year of substance use counseling experience and a CASAC certification or other clinical license (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT). The ability to provide services in Spanish is preferred.
