Summary

We are seeking a (Psychiatric) Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Pronghorn Psychiatry. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to our patients, contributing to their recovery journey in a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and psychiatric care for up to 12 inpatient beds in a sub-acute psychiatric facility.
• Conduct daily rounds and collaborate with the interdisciplinary clinical team to ensure patient stabilization and continuity of care.
• Complete psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and monitor treatment response.
• Admit and discharge patients according to clinical guidelines and facility policy.
• Provide after-hours emergency on-call coverage as needed (occasional nights/weekends).
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and referring providers.

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP or FNP with psychiatric experience).
• At least 1–2 years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry, detox, or behavioral health settings.
• Proficiency in psychiatric medication management and knowledge of stabilization protocols.
• Experience with sub-acute or residential treatment programs preferred.
• Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, (Bestnotes).

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $90.00 - $105.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
