Job Summary:
The Front Desk Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in the daily operations of our orthotic and prosthetic clinic. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and efficient front office experience for patients, caregivers, and referring providers. The coordinator will manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and support the clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors professionally, creating a positive and compassionate first impression
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and respond to general inquiries
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments for orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic services
- Verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations/pre-certifications when needed
- Collect and accurately input patient demographics and referral information into the EMR system
- Maintain organized and HIPAA-compliant front desk and patient records
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately prior to appointments (consents, intake forms, etc.)
- Communicate with referring providers, physician offices, hospitals, and internal staff
- Monitor waiting area and ensure patients are informed about wait times or delays
- Handle payments, copays, and receipts as necessary
- Assist with clinic tasks such as scanning, faxing, mailing, or general office duties
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
