The firm handles a broad range of issues related to seven technology areas, including biotechnology, chemical, electronics-computer, and litigation, and represents its clients globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, prosecute, and manage patent applications across advanced life science technologies

• Provide strategic IP counseling, freedom to operate analyses, and validity opinions

• Support inter partes review (IPR) and litigation teams with claim charts, expert prep, and deposition strategy

• Guide clients through licensing negotiations and transactional IP issues

• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Ensure IP strategy aligns with scientific and commercial goals

Qualifications:

• 20+ years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling within the life sciences

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in life sciences (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology)

• USPTO registration

• Admission to the North Carolina Bar or eligibility for prompt reciprocity

• Strong client communication, legal writing, and project leadership abilities
