Major Duties:

1. Serve as a Clinical Psychologist Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for the Clinic and Behavioral Health System of Care (BHSOC) Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) program. Conduct mental health diagnoses per DSM standards, provide individual and group treatments, and document patient care per SOPs and regulatory requirements. Assess and treat acute and chronic behavioral health conditions, including behavioral medicine issues, and participate in quality assurance activities. Provide clinical consultation to healthcare professionals and educate staff on primary care behavioral health principles.
2. Provide evidence-based individual treatment and psychoeducational classes for primary care patients. Collaborate with primary care teams to optimize health outcomes, especially for high-risk patients. Develop and evaluate treatment processes, set treatment goals, and ensure effective case management and documentation.
3. Implement performance initiatives by revising clinical standards, conducting quality assurance, and evaluating clinical outcomes. Increase clinical productivity, monitor behavioral outcome measures, and evaluate program effectiveness. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and improve service delivery.
4. Provide consultation on outcome measures and screening instruments. Develop and coordinate professional development activities, in-service training, and evaluate scope of practice to enhance adherence and efficacy. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen with a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in clinical psychology and hold an active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the U.S. Experience includes conducting biopsychosocial evaluations, assessing cognitive, emotional, and psychological status, providing individual and group treatments, and consulting with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. Experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent is required.
