Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate QDDPs, MATCs or CSACs to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will play a crucial role in helping clients achieve their recovery goals while promoting a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine the needs of clients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and ongoing evaluations.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documenting client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Collect data for program evaluation and improvement purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community resources to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Provide education on substance abuse issues, coping strategies, and recovery resources to clients and their families.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification or licensure as a QDDP, MATC and CSACS
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to substance use disorders.
- Experience in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with home community care resources for supporting clients post-treatment.
- Proficient in data collection methods and maintaining medical records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- A compassionate approach with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in counseling practice.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
