A school district in Rochester, MI is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist for an elementary school setting. This contractual position runs from August 18, 2025, to June 2026, with a commitment of 30 hours per week. The role focuses on serving an early childhood program as well as one elementary school, working with children from birth to age 3, preschool, and kindergarten through fifth grade.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for students in early childhood and elementary settings
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and interventions to support student social-emotional development
- Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust support plans as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student success initiatives
Qualifications:
- Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with early childhood and elementary age groups (birth to grade 5)
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse school teams and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
