About Job

We’re looking for a dependable, hard-working team member to join our dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility on the beautiful island of Kaua’i. This is a hands-on, outdoor job working directly with dogs in all weather conditions. If you love dogs and aren’t afraid to get dirty, this could be the perfect fit!

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work weekends:
  • Saturdays & Sundays – 12-14 hour shifts both days
  • Some morning shifts on weekdays as needed - 3 hour shifts
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in the Kaua’i climate (rain, sun, and everything in between)
  • Experience working with dogs in a daycare, kennel, shelter, or similar setting is preferred
  • Must have a good understanding of dog safety, including:
  • Group play management
  • Dog body language
  • Matching dogs by personality and energy level
  • Confident in handling all dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments
  • Skilled or willing to learn how to bathe dogs and trim nails safely
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry throughout long shifts
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team
  • Great attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for animal care are a must

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage with dogs in group play settings while ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Organize dogs based on temperament, size, and play style
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces daily
  • Pick up dog waste promptly throughout the day (inside and outside areas)
  • Wash, sanitize, and refill dog food and water bowls
  • Feed dogs according to their specific feeding instructions
  • Bathe dogs and trim nails as needed (training available)
  • Monitor dog behavior and report any signs of illness or injury
  • Assist with check-in/check-out of dogs and communicate with pet parents as needed
  • Follow all safety and cleaning protocols to maintain a healthy environment
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions — including sun, wind, and rain.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
