School Psychologist for SY25/26 - Frankfort, KY

Job Title: School Psychologist (Full-Time)
Location: Franklin County Schools Frankfort, Kentucky

Employment Details

  • Position Type: Full-Time

  • Dates: August 13th End of May

  • Work Schedule: 8:00 AM 3:30 PM, 35 hours per week across 45 days

Caseload Summary

  • Assigned to one middle school and one elementary school within Franklin County Schools.

  • Responsible for providing psychological services across both school settings, balancing time and responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Psychological Assessment and Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments (cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional) for students from elementary through middle school levels.

  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary eligibility and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.

  • Prepare clear, data-informed psychological reports with actionable recommendations.

  • Clinical and Counseling Services

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students with emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.

  • Assist in crisis intervention and implement behavioral strategies consistent with best practices.

  • Consultation and Collaboration

  • Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support student needs and intervention planning.

  • Collaborate on the design and monitoring of behavioral and academic interventions, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

  • Program Development and Implementation

  • Lead or assist with social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and training within the assigned schools.

  • Deliver professional development sessions related to student mental health, trauma-informed practices, and classroom supports.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an NASP- or APA-accredited program.

  • Valid Kentucky School Psychologist Certification.

  • Experience working with elementary and middle school populations.

  • Proficiency in standardized assessment instruments such as WISC, WIAT, BASC, or similar tools.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Desired Qualities

  • Solid understanding of child development and age-appropriate social-emotional interventions.

  • Ability to effectively manage a split caseload across two schools.

  • Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices preferred.

    Workload and Schedule

  • 35-hour workweek, scheduled over 4 to 5 days, with flexibility to divide time between both school buildings.

  • Office hours may be split or overlap between schools, with occasional telepractice support as needed.

  • Limited after-hours work, primarily for IEP meetings or professional development.

    Tools and Supports Provided

  • Dedicated workspace with necessary assessment materials and technology.
