Title: Employment Counselor Assistant


Type of Employment: Per Diem


POSITION CONCEPT:
Provide support and guidance toward the development of skills that prepare individuals for employment. Skills include, but are not limited to: attention to task, following directions, problem solving, attendance, professional conduct, social interactions and more.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Employment Counselor Assistant will:

  • Actively cooperate with the President/CEO and other staff members in a joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of CWI.
  • Work cooperatively under the daily direction of the Day & Employment Services Manager.
  • Assist with the maintenance of case records for each individual receiving service.
  • Assist with the production of documentation of services required for proper billing per regulation and procedure.
  • Assist with management and communication of individual’s issues, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • As part of the interdisciplinary team, provide input into Staff Action Plan development and feedback regarding progress toward skill development.
  • Assist with the development of services, including the securing of community work experience sites and other pre-vocational activities
  • Implement Staff Action Plans per the Sr. Employment Counselor and Day and Employment Services Manager, including coaching at work experience sites
  • Provide transportation as needed, to and from home and to and from work experience sites.
  • Take part in any in-service training as offered by the agency and attend meetings as requested.
  • Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/CEO.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree in psychology, human services or other related field with one year of paid experience in vocational rehabilitation or related areas. Computer competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Three to five years paid experience working with the developmentally disabled population in vocational rehabilitation or a related area may be substituted for the education requirement.
