The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Executes the plan for recruitment and admission of students to academic programs. Interviews and counsel's prospective students. Oversees implementation of internal and external recruitment activities. Develops the knowledge, style and the presence which project the appropriate dynamic image of the University and its range of available opportunities. Oversees admissions program(s) or areas of focus, such as transfer students, scholarship or specific academic areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the admission process for academic program(s). Acts as a liaison to the University of Rochester Admissions Office and the College regarding admission processes.
  • Reviews all applicants for admission.
  • Manages recruitment plan and delegates workload to appropriate staff.
  • May participate in decision-making process.
  • Cultivates relationships with Placement Offices and faculty.
  • May assign work, special projects, and applications procedures to available clerical personnel.
  • May assign other staff members tasks to answer items of correspondence.
  • May interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Oversees the development and management of a data management system for applicants. Uses the University’s data management system to retrieve and analyze information.
  • Oversees the development of accurate reports from the various data management systems.
  • Assists with budget for purposes of recruitment, publications, and marketing.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience in admissions required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced work in statistics, education, counseling and testing, and/or public relations preferred
