Exceptional Wellness, Inc. is a community-based mental health organization committed to supporting individuals and families in achieving lasting emotional wellness. We’re currently seeking a Bilingual Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to join our growing team and provide compassionate, client-centered care throughout Texas.
This is a flexible role with both full-time and part-time hours available. Counselors have the freedom to create their own schedules in collaboration with their clients. We strongly value work-life balance and foster a supportive, inclusive team culture where your expertise and input truly matter.
Responsibilities:
- Understand, utilize, and regularly review the 12 Core Functions as required by THHSC.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Therapeutic Community concept and all of its components.
- Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, including the client, recovery manager, LPC, psychosocial counselor, peer support specialist, and family members.
- Report pertinent client updates to the Recovery Manager.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Document client progress and maintain complete, timely client records.
- Maintain knowledge of THHSC compliance guidelines related to counselor duties.
- Make appropriate referrals to other services and supports as needed.
- Facilitate education and confrontation groups.
- Conduct individual client sessions at least twice a month.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements:
- LCDC License (LCDC-I applicants are still welcome to apply)
- Bilingual
- Bachelor's Degree
- ANSA Certification
- CANS 3-6 Certification
- CANS 6-17 Certification
- Reside in Dallas, TX
- Minimum two years of experience in the field of substance abuse counseling.
- Strong understanding of 12-Step program philosophy.
- Adherence to all Exceptional Wellness Inc. policies and procedures, including the Employee Manual and Code of Ethics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
- Commitment to ethical and client-centered care.
