JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Music Therapist
SUMMARY
Music therapist provides music therapy consultation and services with adults who have Alzheimer’s and Dementia as well as adults with intellectual disorders. Provides individual, group music therapy sessions along with individual therapy and patient intake at Pennsylvania Integrative Clinical Services (PICS). Music Therapist must be able to multi-task by playing music, interacting with clients, making assessments, and taking notes simultaneously. Additionally, the Music Therapist will provide clinical supervision to music therapy students and other assigned trainees/volunteers.

HOURS OF WORK
Full Time, including evening and weekends.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers and staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Providing musical interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve clients' psychological, physical, and social health.
- Implementing music therapy services that support healing, comfort, and expression.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team in planning, facilitating, and behavioral support services.
- Offering emotional support while utilizing music therapy techniques to facilitate adaptive coping skills for consumers.
- Monitoring clients during musical interventions while measuring and recording the effectiveness of sessions.
- Complying with PICS policies and procedures regarding infection control and maintenance of supplies and tools.
- Attending regularly scheduled clinical and supervision meetings as required.
- Conducting assessments to record client’s progress.
- Participating in patient intake process.
- Organizing and maintaining music therapy supplies, donations, and music library.
- Maintaining competencies and professional development, licensure, certification or registration as required.
- Performing other similar and related duties as assigned Including but not limited to Behavior Supports.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved college and university program.
HOURS OF WORK
Full Time, including evening and weekends.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers and staff

- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current board certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC).
