Title: Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant

Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Hours: Dayshift, Evening and Weekend hours as needed

Supervisor: Director of Clinical Services

Qualifications: High School diploma and CDCA required. Competency or training in chemical dependency treatment preferred. Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery. CDCA must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and a demonstrated commitment to the recovery community.

Role: The Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder by providing quality counseling and case management services to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery and reconnection to the community.

Duties and Functions:

· Maintains assigned level of productivity, track reports and records in appropriate files and database(s) and provide timely and accurate clinical documentation of sessions provided

· Provides therapeutic chemical dependency counseling and case management to clients and family as per Agency policies and procedures both in the agency setting and off-site as assigned.

· Interviews clients, performs diagnostic assessments, and prepares a narrative summary including problem areas, client strengths, and treatment recommendations.

· Assists individuals to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery

· Develops treatment plans and reviews, prepares discharge summary and aftercare plan as per agency procedure.

· Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the individual’s goals and interests

· Links individuals to appropriate professional resources

· Provide vision-driven hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community based activities (e.g., work, school, relationships, physical activity, self-directed hobbies, etc.)

· Identify barriers (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and developing strategies to overcome those barriers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
