Overview: Bronx Family Network Inc. is seeking a reliable and compassionate Residential Aide to provide support and ensure the safety and stability of families residing in our shelter program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing regular wellness checks, supporting clients’ basic needs, and assisting with shelter operations during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hourly wellness checks (“rounds”) throughout the overnight shift.
- Process new client intake information and make copies of essential documents (e.g., ID, immigration paperwork).
- Complete intake forms including:
- Client Code of Conduct
- Client Acknowledgment of Responsibility (CARF)
- Shelter Rules and Regulations
- Immediate Needs and Locker Assignments
- Assist clients with locker usage, including demonstrating lock use and documenting locker assignments.
- Provide hygiene products and obtain Refusal of Services forms when applicable.
- Record and submit accurate overnight headcounts.
- Maintain a calm, supportive presence and respond to client needs and incidents as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in shelters, residential facilities, or similar environments preferred.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
