Position Summary

The Mental Health Professional/Crisis Worker works to build positive relationships with individuals in crisis to assure that their needs are respectfully and adequately addressed. The Crisis Worker will assure that services are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive and responsive, and goal driven. This position requires local travel and flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule in a high-demand work situation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Crisis counseling & assessments

  • Disposition planning & linkage

  • Identifying, forming and maintaining good working relationships

  • Following quality standards and compliance with external licensing and regulatory agencies

  • Professional growth and development through supervision and training for licensure as needed

Qualifications

  • State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.

  • Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Requires vision, speech, and hearing.

  • Environmental Factors: Community, home, school.

  • Working Hours: A non-traditional work schedule as defined by service needs.

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Human Services

Experience

Required

  • 1 year: Experience working with children and/or families
