Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our growing team in Tallahassee, Florida. The LMHC will provide evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, families, and/or groups across a variety of mental health needs. The ideal candidate is licensed in the state of Florida and committed to delivering high-quality mental health care in a professional, ethical, and client-centered environment. Experience working in pediatrics is a plus!

Duties

• Conduct patient assessments to evaluate mental health status and needs.
• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to monitor patient progress and adjust care strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment progress, and any incidents that occur.
• Support patients with disabilities by adapting therapeutic approaches to meet their unique needs.
• Stay up to date on best practices, continuing education, and Florida state requirements.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, including group therapy and individual counseling.
• Proficiency in patient assessment skills and understanding of pediatric mental health issues is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in mental health care.
• A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
• Required License: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida (active and in good standing).
• Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DSM-5, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
