Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC)

Classification: Faculty, part-time, non-benefits eligible

Division: Counseling

Reports to: Chair, CMHC

Location: Antioch University (remote), low residency

Compensation (per credit hour): $1,450.00 per credit hour (3 credit course is $4,350.00)

Start Date: Fall 2025 and Spring 2026

Antioch University Graduate School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy invites applications for several Adjunct faculty to join our progressive team in our Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) programs for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. The CMHC programs are offered in two platforms – a low residency platform with online course work and campus-based classes in both Seattle, WA and Keene, NH. This position is a for our low residency modality, with both synchronous and asynchronous options.

Adjunct Faculty members have responsibility for engagement in student learning through course instruction. The Adjunct Faculty will teach a course load of one to three classes in our low residency program in the Fall semester (15 weeks beginning August 20, 2025). Courses may include Foundational Theories of Counseling, Group Counseling, Research and Evaluation in Counseling, Social Cultural Diversity, Practicum, Internship, Diagnosis and Treatment, Issues in Addictions Counseling, among others.

The CMHC program at AU is committed to experiential learning, social justice, extensive clinical training, scholarship, and the use of creative, progressive and applied approaches. AUNE has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout New England, and the country, who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers.

Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate in counselor education (CACREP-accredited program preferred) from a regionally accredited institution; MA level licensed LMHC with 5 years experience will be considered.
  • Professional counselor credentials (e.g., NCC or state licensure)
  • At least two years of professional clinical experience and graduate teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in online pedagogy specific to clinical training programs
  • Knowledge of CACREP Standards and program evaluation
  • commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association’s (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies
