Overview
Lifeologie Counseling St Johns is a new practice focusing on children and families. This is a very collaborative model with the focus on becoming a multi-specialty and supportive practice, including medication management and evaluators.
We are looking for a highly motivated sports psychologist with excellent research and counseling skills. This person should have experience in providing psychological strategies and support to athletes, either individually or in groups, to improve their athletic performance. Additionally, this person should be skilled at studying personality and performance in order to improve their self-efficacy through physiological contexts such as biomechanics and kinesiology, as well as, breathing, relaxation, and/or cognitive techniques to instill focus and mental intensity that is necessary for athletes to increase their performance levels.. You will be required to study an athlete’s mental response to their sport and provide techniques to manage issues such as anxiety, poor performance, and sports injuries.
The goal is to assist our athletes in achieving optimal mental wellness and enhancing their performance.

Duties
- Assist athletes with mental preparation and performance enhancement techniques.
- Work with coaches to enhance team cohesion, communication, leadership, and motivation.
- Help athletes cope with stress, anxiety, and self-doubt.
- Conduct group and individual sessions to address mental health issues.
- Develop and implement mental training programs tailored to specific sports and athletes.
- Analyze and evaluate athlete's behavior and psychological factors that may affect their performance.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design comprehensive treatment plans.
- Teach athletes relaxation techniques, visualization, goal setting, and self-talk.
- Provide counseling and support to athletes who may be experiencing personal and family issues.
- Conduct research and contribute to the scientific knowledge of sport psychology.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in Psychology, preferably with a focus on sports psychology.
- Must be licensed or certified to practice psychology.
- Proven experience as a Sports Psychologist.
- Experience working with athletes and understanding their unique needs and challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Empathy and good listening skills.
- Knowledge of sport science and physical fitness.
- Proven experience in healthcare management or clinical settings
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

This is a 1099 contract position that may include insurance billable hours and provides scheduling and time off flexibility. We will have a combination of self-pay patients and insurance billing.
