Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking an experienced Admissions Counselor for our Skilled Care and Personal Care areas. The successful applicant will have at least 4 years of related admissions, sales, or marketing experience in a healthcare facility, skilled nursing facility, or retirement community.

The Admissions Counselor helps maintain the optimal level of occupancy in all Supportive Living areas of Brethren Village - the Skilled Nursing Facility, the Short-Term Rehabilitation Center, and Personal Care areas. The Admissions Counselor effectively coordinates and administers admissions and marketing-related functions to help achieve or exceed the organization's budgeted occupancy goals.

The Admissions Counselor meets with prospective Residents and their family members or representative; provides accurate information and facility tours to prospective Residents and family members; coordinates and oversees the application process; evaluates applications in conjunction with department Administrators and Social Workers; proactively assists Residents during the move-in process.

The Admissions Counselor consistently provides exceptional service to prospective Residents, new Residents, and their family members or representative. The Admissions Counselor works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient and pleasant admission and move-in experience for each Resident.

The Admissions Counselor completes all work in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations, and with the highest degree of integrity consistent with Brethren Village's values.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, benefits-eligible: Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or similar hours; on-site
  • Occasional additional hours to fulfill responsibilities
  • Evening and weekend hours will be required on occasion

Additional Requirements for this Position:

  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least 4 years of related admissions, sales, or marketing experience in a healthcare facility, skilled nursing facility, or retirement community
  • experience with health insurance verification, certification, and/or Utilization Review
  • basic knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately review and interpret medical records
  • understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations
  • ability to remain organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment; ability to meet deadlines
  • outstanding customer service skills / demonstrated ability to respond in a timely, helpful, and professional manner to inquiries and concerns
  • accuracy with work / high attention to detail
  • effective verbal and written communication abilities; comfort and effectiveness with making presentations and leading small-group meetings
  • proficiency with software applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Point-Click-Care; ability to use web-based applications and computerized databases
  • ability to make sound decisions independently, based upon given information and department objectives
  • ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • ability and willingness to consistently represent Brethren Village in a positive and professional manner
