Board Certified Music Therapist

We are growing our music therapy team and looking for individuals to join our team who are compassionate, hardworking and team oriented. This position provides the opportunity to conduct individual and group music therapy sessions for pediatric and adult clients in the IDD community, as well as children with chronic and complex medical conditions.

COMPENSATION: VitalCare offers contact hourly and guaranteed hours positions. Hourly positions offer flexible scheduling and a self-determined caseload. Guaranteed hours positions required a caseload commitment and come with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, two weeks of paid PTO and paid holidays. All positions provide accrued paid sick leave, continuing education and the opportunity to use a company vehicle with included gas to travel to home visits. After school and evening availability is needed for this position.

Contact hourly employees are paid at a rate of $40.00 (bachelors) or $61.00 (masters) per contact hour. Additionally, contact hourly positions are paid at a rate of $25.00 per hour for approved admin activities.

TRAVEL: This position requires regular travel to complete home visits. Office visits and virtual sessions may also be conducted when appropriate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy
• MT-BC required (new grads seeking board certification welcome to apply!)
• Experience working with clients with autism highly desired

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide individualized treatment to clients of all ages
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Communicates effectively with supervisor and other staff members
• Seeks clinical consultation with team members as necessary
• Completes assessments, treatment plans and progress notes
• Attends team meetings, trainings and supervision
• Maintains appropriate certification and strives to increase professional growth through ongoing training

ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Thorough knowledge of music therapy theory and practice
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft outlook and ability to advance computer skills as necessary
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, clients and families

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Current TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter
• Annual influenza vaccination upon hire and annually thereafter
• Possession of a valid state driver's license with reliable transportation and applicable car insurance
• Background check required
