An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to provide essential psychological services in a high school setting, covering a maternity leave from August through November. This role is pivotal in supporting the diverse needs of approximately 800 students, ensuring their educational and emotional well-being through targeted evaluations and interventions.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Valid state license or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in high school environments
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, particularly with adolescent populations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrative staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school climate
Location:
Chicopee, MA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for students, approximately eight per month
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational staff
- Provide counseling and support services to students facing academic and emotional challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address student needs and promote welfare
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to a comprehensive approach to student care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student evaluations and interventions
