Intervention Specialist (Behavioral Intervention):
Developmental Concepts, Inc., is seeking qualified interventionists who are looking to fill community and school-based positions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Studies Field and has demonstrated a passion for working with children with medical and behavioral needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains knowledge of individuals, their health and medical needs, and their service plans.
- Provide intervention to meet the needs of the participant by developing adaptive skills for all and addressing maladaptive behaviors for participants within the home, school, or community.
- Maintain communication and collaboration with participant's families, physicians, and officials regarding therapeutic interventions of each individual assigned to the caseload.
- Review weekly paperwork regarding assigned caseload and verification of accuracy.
- Collect data/document service requirements on a daily basis.
- Evaluate the progress of each individual participant and implement new interventions as necessary to meet the individual's needs based on their current skill level.
- Understand, implement, and follow rules set forth by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- Must complete annual training requirements, as determined by DCI’s Policies and Procedures.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- A bachelor’s (BA/BS) in a Human Services Field (i.e. health care, social services, education, behavioral science, or counseling) from a nationally accredited college or university is required.
- One year of supervised experience working with children with developmental disabilities is required. Experience can be gained through paid employment university practicum experience or internship.
- Complete a 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician Course (RBT) provided by DCI, or hold a current Habilitative Intervention (HI) Certificate.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
