JOB SUMMARY:
 The Director of Banquets is responsible for the successful execution and oversight of all banquet operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a strong focus on cost control and operational efficiency. This role works in partnership with the Banquets Manager to lead, develop, and support the banquet team, including hiring, training, performance management, and day-to-day supervision.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Culinary, Sales, and Catering teams to coordinate all banquet-related food and beverage needs
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and professional development of all banquet personnel
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date information on all upcoming functions and ensure effective communication with all relevant teams
  • Oversee daily operations of banquet events, ensuring adherence to service standards and event specifications
  • Deliver ongoing training and coaching for captains and hourly staff to improve service quality and guest satisfaction scores
  • Monitor and manage labor and operational costs in alignment with budget goals
  • Prepare banquet checks, secure guest signatures, and communicate payment procedures to clients at the conclusion of events
  • Requisition and manage banquet bar inventory, including liquor and supply control
  • Ensure compliance with all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout service areas
  • Partner with the Food & Beverage and Catering Managers to support special events, promotions, and VIP functions
  • Maintain, inventory, and ensure proper use and storage of all banquet service equipment
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Sales teams to review billing, contracts, and event revenue reporting
  • Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to evaluate performance, client satisfaction, and operational improvements
  • Develop and implement departmental SOPs, training manuals, and service standards
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring complete satisfaction

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role required
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
