Overview

As a dedicated Child Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating a diverse range of psychiatric disorders for clients in an outpatient setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring comprehensive behavioral health services through collaboration with Advanced Practice Nurses and a multidisciplinary care team.

What You'll Do:

In your role as a Child Psychiatrist, you will provide professional services in evaluating and treating clients at a community mental health center. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Diagnosing disorders and determining appropriate treatment plans.
  • Prescribing medication as necessary.
  • Maintaining documentation in line with quality assurance procedures and clinical performance standards.
  • Keeping accurate and current records that meet agency standards.
  • Providing direct psychiatric treatment and monitoring the quality of services delivered.
  • Participating in staff and inter-agency meetings as required.
  • Adhering to County, State, and federal mental health care regulations.
  • Managing medical staff privileges at designated hospitals as required.
  • Participating in a rotating on-call coverage schedule.
  • Performing other assigned duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • MD or DO from an accredited university with specialized training in child psychiatry.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities and populations experiencing vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding and commitment to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • DEA Certification.
  • Valid Psychiatry License in the State of Colorado.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, with a clean driving record.
  • Board certified or eligible with plans for certification.

The anticipated hiring range is between $216,000 and $270,000, depending on relevant experience.
