This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center, 205 Piedmont Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29732
The Office of Mental Health’s mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
As the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Lead for Catawba Community Mental Health Center, you will lead and supervise the ACT Team providing evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower-level care options.
Responsibilities for this Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Lead:
- Oversee the administrative operations of the team.
- Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best and ethical practices.
- Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.
- Ensure services are documented in accordance with Office of Mental Health / Quality Assurance requirements.
- Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include but not limited to: facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team and completing evaluations.
- Ensure a department commitment to cultural affairs and ensures all direct reports have a cultural affairs component to his or her planning document as a measurable objective.
- Comply with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.
- Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education and licensure.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A masters’ degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human services or social service program.
Licensure as a Psychologist, LISW-CP, LPC or LMFT. Three years’ experience working with adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness and a minimum of two years post graduate experience.
Ability to lift five (5) pounds.
To be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

- Be able to deliver services in the community and patients' homes.
