About Job

About Us:
At Ataraxia Counseling, we are a progressive and client-focused private practice committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed mental health care. We are passionate about fostering a collaborative and ethical environment for both clients and clinicians. We believe in comprehensive care where medication management and therapy go hand in hand to support meaningful healing. We are a small but growing practice and looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, communicative, and collaborative Psychiatrist to join our team on a part-time contractor basis. This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who values integrated care, communicates well with therapists, and provides consistent, attentive medication management services. The ideal candidate will be committed to ethical prescribing practices, strong documentation, and showing up for clients and team members with care and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing medication management with thoughtful, evidence-based prescribing (no one-size-fits-all approach).
  • Maintain consistent client availability, including offering a recurring schedule that allows for client continuity and therapeutic progress.
  • Communicate regularly and collaboratively with therapists on shared cases to ensure aligned and informed care.
  • Participate in clinical case consultations (staffing) with the therapy team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets HIPAA and ethical standards.
  • Stay current with psychiatric best practices, including trauma-informed and culturally competent care.

What We’re Looking For:

  • MD or DO with board certification (or eligibility) in Psychiatry.
  • Active license to practice and prescribe in the state of Florida.
  • Must have your own EHR and e-prescribing platform in place.
  • Must be willing and able to schedule clients with consistency and flexibility.
  • Availability for in-person sessions preferred (office space is provided), though hybrid is welcome based on client's needs.
  • Experience and comfort working with diverse populations including teens, women, LGBTQIA+ clients, and those with trauma histories.
  • Strong communication skills, ethical prescribing practices, initiative and a collaborative spirit are non-negotiable.

We Offer:

  • $100-$280 per session contractor pay (based on session type).
  • Flexible scheduling- you set your hours, as long as it allows for consistent care.
  • In-office space for sessions.
  • Inclusion in our internal referral network.
  • Profile on our practice website.
  • Access to case consultation and clinical support through team staffings.
  • Administrative support for credentialing and billing via Headway (you’ll be paneled through them for insurance reimbursement).

To Apply:
Please submit your CV and a brief letter of interest describing your experience and therapeutic philosophy. We’re especially excited to meet providers who bring warmth, responsiveness, and integrity to their work.
