Job Overview

Maryland Board License is required. LCSWC, LMSW, LGPC, LCPC, or LGADC, LCADC is required.
The position plays a crucial role in the mental health care process, serving as the first point of contact for clients seeking services. This position involves assessing client needs, gathering relevant information, and facilitating appropriate referrals to ensure individuals receive the best possible care. The Intake Specialist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clients, particularly those with complex mental health needs.

Duties

  • Conduct initial assessments and intake interviews to gather comprehensive client histories and identify presenting issues.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Provide information about available services and resources to clients and their families.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate programs or specialists based on assessment findings.
  • Monitor client progress and follow up as necessary to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions regarding client treatment strategies.

Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of essential and preferred skills, including:

  • Proficiency in Psychopharmacology for understanding medication management.
  • Strong Behavior management techniques to support clients effectively.
  • Experience in Psychotherapy practices, particularly with children and adolescents.
  • Familiarity with PTSD Care methodologies to assist clients dealing with trauma.
  • Knowledge of Applied behavior analysis principles for effective intervention strategies.
  • Competence in Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques for therapeutic sessions.
  • Experience working in an Outpatient setting is beneficial for understanding acute care needs.
  • Skills in Motivational interviewing to encourage client engagement and commitment to treatment.
