Position: Counselor
Location: Clyde, Ohio
Schedule: Full-time, Hourly
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
Classification: Learned Professional (Non-Exempt under FLSA)

Position Summary:
Talbot Health Services is currently hiring a compassionate and skilled Counselor to join our clinical team in Clyde, Ohio. This role is essential in providing person-centered, trauma-informed therapeutic care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. The Counselor will serve as a key member of our behavioral health team and will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services

  • Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic summaries, and treatment planning

  • Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care to clients

  • Coordinate with treatment team members and external providers for integrated care

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of clinical services and billing

  • Uphold agency and licensure standards for recordkeeping and compliance

  • Engage in case management, client education, referrals, and crisis interventions as needed

  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities

  • Meet assigned productivity and service delivery expectations

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Ohio license in one of the following: LSW, LPC, LCDC II, or LCDC III

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field

  • Good standing with Ohio licensing board

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field

  • Advanced licensure (LISW, LPCC, or LICDC)

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification

  • Crisis prevention/de-escalation training

Core Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of mental health and substance use best practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

  • Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Office and community-based setting, may require travel within the region

  • Smoke-free, drug-free workplace

  • Must be able to sit at a desk, operate a computer, and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs
