We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with patients experiencing mental health challenges, providing essential support and care in a clinical setting. Responsibilities
- Conduct patient observation to monitor behavior and emotional status, documenting any significant changes.
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of nursing staff and mental health professionals.
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Engage with patients to promote therapeutic communication and support behavioral management strategies.
- Work effectively with individuals with disabilities, adapting care approaches to meet diverse needs.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient interactions and observations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within acute care settings or corrections facility medical clinics.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in psychiatric settings or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatry principles and acute care practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for accurate documentation and interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- A background in nursing or relevant healthcare experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.41 - $23.19 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
