JOB TITLE: Early Intervention Specialist
OVERVIEW:
The Early Intervention Specialist functions as a professional member of the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) team, representing the discipline of early intervention and providing services for ECI children and families whose needs are most appropriately served by this professional.
Community Healthcore Early Childhood Intervention serves children in Bowie, Cass, and Red River counties.
MINIMUM HOURLY SALARY: $21.50
May include but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Coordinates all services within the program and between agencies for assigned children and families.
- Performs advanced duties in implementing programs designed for children aged zero to two years with developmental delays and their families.
- Has responsibility for independent judgment in enhancing children's skill development through designing learning environments, curriculum planning, and providing parents with information and skills to support skill development.
- Exhibits working knowledge of ECI Policy and Procedures.
- Maintains integrity of documentation in client files.
- Understands and applies principles of family-centered practice.
- Functions as a service coordinator for assigned clients, coordinating all services within ECI and across agencies.
- Serves on the ECI Interdisciplinary Team and is responsible for assigned services as outlined in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with community agencies and child-serving entities to support public awareness of the ECI program.
- Must obtain Early Intervention Specialist credentials within the required timeframe.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree from an accredited university in early childhood development, early care and early childhood, early childhood special education, human development and family studies, psychology, social work, counseling, special education (without early childhood emphasis), sociology, or other related fields. Additional training may be required based on coursework and previous work experience.
- Based on coursework, additional training may be required upon hire.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Driver's License in the state of residence.

- Must be able to perform activities necessary for service delivery, including bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, carrying, crawling, and kneeling.
- Must tolerate exposure to excessive heat and cold.
TRAVEL:
- Service area includes Bowie, Cass, and Red River counties.
