JOB SUMMARY:

The Parent Partner (PP) will work closely with program participants, stakeholders, and service providers to promote family-centered engagement and contribute to the development and delivery of effective services in Clayton County. The Georgia THRIVe Prevention (GTP) initiative is a preventative program designed to support pregnant and parenting individuals, including fathers and caregivers, who exhibit signs or symptoms of mental, emotional, behavioral, or substance use disorders.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison between program participants, families, and service providers to ensure that parents’ voices are included in program planning and decision-making
  • Engage and motivate parents and caregivers affected by opioid use disorder to enter, continue, and complete treatment programs
  • Identify and help resolve barriers to care
  • Participate in team meetings, community outreach, and planning sessions to represent the parent perspective
  • Collaborate with professionals to support the overall wellness of program participants
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, referrals, and support services provided
  • Uphold confidentiality and promote a non-judgmental, supportive environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in public health, social services, or related field

· Completion of all required training (if required by state or agency)

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated ability to maintain empathy, respect, and professionalism in diverse settings

· Knowledge of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction approaches is a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, also possess the following:

· Experience working with community and faith-based organizations

· Experience working in substance abuse and prevention

· Bilingual or multilingual abilities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
