REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Services
WORK YEAR: 195 day per work calendar
SALARY RANGE: Appropriate step on Salary Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Valid Ohio LSW, LISW or LISW-S
- Experience as a social worker in an educational setting preferred
- A minimum of one (1) year experience with managing case management and/or care plan programs is advantageous
- A minimum of one (1) year experience supervising direct service staff is advantageous
- Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively
- Current van license, or willingness to obtain
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide case management services to students and families as neede
- Implement individual and group interventions for students on caseload
- Provide family interventions to support the whole child and decrease barriers to academic and social growth
- Conduct home visits and provide home-based interventions to students on caseload, as appropriate
- Monitor the attendance, behavior, emotional and academic progress of students on caseload
- Collect assessment data relevant to the child’s emotional, academic, and developmental history to assist in educational and career planning
- Coordinate learning opportunities for families, staff, administrators and students on topics identified on needs assessment(s)
- Act as a liaison between students, families, and school personnel and participate in team meetings to support student achievement and overcome social, emotional, or behavioral concerns
- Provide consultation to staff on mental health concerns, behavioral interventions, and crisis intervention as needed
- Work with community and regional service providers to provide resources to students and families
- Maintain communication with parents and the educational team for students on caseload on a consistent basis to share information and give feedback on student progress
- Serve as an active participate on crisis intervention and threat assessment teams
- Supervise and provide support to social work interns, as appropriate
- Conduct other duties related to the position of social worker as described by supervisor(s)
