Join our team as a Psychology Associate on our Treatment Mall Team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) in Tukwila, WA
OHBH treats patients civilly committed by the courts and referred to state psychiatric care for treatment and rehabilitation. State treatment facilities prepare civil patients for eventual discharge back into our communities.
King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.Some of what you will do
- Facilitate group sessions and deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions tailored to resident needs.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (medical, psychiatry, nursing, social work, etc.) to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Integrate residents' personal interests into group sessions to increase engagement and therapeutic outcomes.
- Apply established treatment models to guide resident care and help formulate specific treatment goals.
- Serve as a clinical mentor for other staff.
What we're looking for
- A master's degree in psychology or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of behaviorism, cognitive and related therapies, and other clinical modalities. Specific experience leading groups using DBT, CBT, CPT, ACT, and/or motivational interviewing.
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Knowledge of mental illness and recovery principles.
- Experience and credentials in substance use interventions not required, but desirable.
- Ability to work with challenging patients in a therapeutic and non-threatening manner.
- Ability to work as a team member and resolve personal conflicts in a calm and respectful way.
