Technical Purchasing Specialist
AquaPhoenix Scientific, located in Fort Worth, TX is where technology and water converge is seeking a full-time, in-office, Technical Purchasing Specialist to source plumbing, electrical supplies used in water treatment panels. Communication is key across multiple locations, departments, and all levels of management. As a salaried Technical Buyer, you would be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Company’s purchasing strategies, technical sourcing, finding cost savings, oversight of the supply chain, inventory count/tracking, and procurement operations in the water treatment division.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications that include:
- Manage the accurate and timely sourcing of supply-chain materials in accordance with standards for price, scheduling, and quantity to support optimal production efficiency.
- Ethically evaluate and negotiate products and services with current and potential suppliers. Conduct frequent vendor reviews and analyze purchasing, sourcing, and pricing trends, incorporate best practices to meet forecasting demands and minimize purchasing costs.
- Must possess strong organization and verbal / written communication skills with an ability to collaborate with internal and remote departments, internal and external customers. Electronic Communication Means (phone, emails, video conferencing, web conferencing, etc.)
- Collaborate with production teams and inventory to establish and forecast supply-chain objectives. Attend meetings as required.
- Work closely with senior management to establish and finalize long-term or large contracts/commitments.
- Three or more years of purchasing, preferably technical purchasing related to water treatment, petroleum, or similar industry.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills, flexible, cross-functional and creative thinker with a collaborative approach to performing his/her responsibilities.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in plumbing or electrical products or related field
- Proven track record of successfully meeting/exceeding purchasing goals and targets
- Analytical, problem-solving skills, flexible, cross-functional and creative thinker with a collaborative approach to performing his/her responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation and impactful story-telling skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, data-driven individual with the ability to multi-task and work proactively to make things happen, in a fast-paced environment
- Possess and maintain exceptional organization, verbal and written communications skills
