Position: Counselor
Location: Mansfield, Ohio
Schedule: Full-time, Hourly
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
Classification: Learned Professional (Non-Exempt)

Position Summary:
Talbot Health Services is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Counselor to join our Mansfield clinical team. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about trauma-informed care and committed to upholding Talbot’s values of client-centered and ethical treatment practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual, group, and family counseling to a diverse caseload

  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress

  • Apply trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers

  • Maintain clinical documentation and records in compliance with agency and regulatory standards

  • Ensure billing documentation is completed accurately and timely

  • Maintain an "audit-ready" charting status

  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and staff meetings

  • Meet established productivity standards and quality benchmarks

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Ohio license: LSW, LPC, or LCDC II/III

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Good standing with the appropriate licensing board

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active LISW, LPCC, or LICDC

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification

  • Crisis de-escalation training

Skills and Traits for Success:

  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health conditions and treatment models

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with community resources and collaborative care models

  • Ability to function independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Strong time management and attention to documentation compliance
