Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a crucial part of our mission with their primary responsibilities being to provide optimal care to patients handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure patient health.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and/or chronic illnesses
  • Review and maintain patient’s medical histories, records and record patients' progress.
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
  • Research the latest treatments, innovations, advances, and trends in the medical industry.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of NP experience in Psychiatry is preferred, but not a must
  • Requires bachelor and master’s degrees from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current New York State RN and NP professional license: Board certifications and BLS certification, required.
