The Department of Developmental Services is looking for a clinical social worker with experience working with the developmentally disabled community to fill a vacancy with our STAR Crisis Assessment Stabilization Team.

The DDS State-Operated Stabilization Training Assessment Re-Integration (STAR) homes provide individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities experiencing an acute crisis with person-centered support and crisis stabilization on a time-limited basis to enable them to successfully return home or transition to less restrictive living settings. The homes strive to empower individuals to be self-reliant as their skills, strengths, perseverance, and abilities allow so they can transition from crisis stabilization services to long-term community living. STAR currently provides services to adolescents (11-17 years old) and adults (18 years of age and older) who are receiving regional center services. The STAR homes are 4 to 5 bed homes located in community settings.

Experience in the following areas will ensure success in this role:

• Master’s degree in social work
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science
• Experience working with the developmentally disabled community
• Principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature of social work with reference to clinical social work
• Current trends in mental health, public health, and public welfare, and Federal and State programs in these fields
• Ability to perform assessments and develop behavioral strategies
• Must be competent in the area of cultural sensitivity
• Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports
• Analyze situations accurately and take effective action

Pay: $58,968.00 - $114,420.00 per year
