Job Summary:

The Resident Advocate-Social Worker at the Southern Utah Veterans Home will be responsible for providing social work services to residents, including assessment, counseling, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work and a passion for working with veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of residents' social and emotional needs
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
  • Provide counseling and support to residents dealing with emotional or psychological issues
  • Advocate for residents' rights and ensure they receive appropriate care and services
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to residents
  • Document all interactions and interventions in residents' records


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work
  • Licensed Social Worker- (preferred, not required) in the state of Utah
  • Experience working with older adults, preferably veterans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents
