Salary: Starting at $315,000 per year

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer and collaborating closely with Clinical Directors, this Psychiatrist will lead our highly reputed Baker Act receiving facility team, utilizing dedicated energy and compassion to remain calm and collected in crisis situations, and supporting evidence-based psychiatric services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Chief Clinical Officer and DLC Clinical Directors/Directors while also demonstrating a high level of independent responsibility.
- Providing direct psychiatric services in a crisis/inpatient setting for adults and children.
- Cross training for coverage of Detox and Crossroads substance use recovery programs.
- Assisting Medical Services and Child PHP during times of low census and acuity.
- Attending Baker Act court hearings, completing periodic Baker Act evaluations and providing medication follow up to inmates at the Collier County Jail via telemedicine.
- Attending morning team report meeting and actively participating in treatment planning with other DLC Staff to design optimal Client care.
- Assessing Clients' mental health status, diagnostic impressions supported by the presenting symptoms, clinical summary, and treatment recommendations.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Clients and families to achieve treatment goals.
- Assuring appropriate medication prescription and responding to address and manage side effects.
- Participation in committees and policy and procedure development to support evidence-based practices.
- Participation in quality-of-care review, risk management, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Attending to compliance and documentation requirements related to medical records, storage and HIPAA.
- Complying with DLC's policies and procedures relating to restraint, seclusion, and emergency treatment orders.
- Support of agency program development initiatives and new evidence-based practices and service delivery models.
- Accepts and provides APRN Protocol supervision of PMHNP/FNPs as per Florida Statute and Board of Nursing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current and clear FL Psychiatrist License & DEA = Required
- Medical Doctor Degree from a regionally accredited College or University = Required
- Experience with Baker Acts = Required
- 2 years of inpatient experience = Required
- 2 years working with adults, adolescents and children that have severe mental illnesses/co-occurring disorders = Required
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the care and treatment of those with mental health or substance use disorders = Required
- Ability to collaborate with other Programs, outside community agencies, and a diverse Client base = Required
- Spanish Bilingual = Preferred But Not Required
- Ability to establish and maintain professional Client boundaries = Required
- Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively = Required
- Dedication to the organization's mission, standards, procedures and protocol = Required
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
Physical Requirements: This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
