PMHNP (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) - Child, adolescent and adult, California Licensed, for telehealth psychiatric medicine.
PMHNP Job Benefits:

- Focus on patient care only! An administrative assistant performs a majority of administrative duties, including but not limited to: rescheduling of patients if needed, processing and follow-up of prior authorizations, clarification of prescriptions when pharmacy errors occur
- 50 minute new-patient evaluations, 20 minute follow-ups
- Supervision and collaborative team-based culture with MDs and focus on employee wellness

Responsibilities:
- Complete initial new patient evaluations and develop treatment plans with patients you follow long-term
- Review medical history and related documents; select and interpret psychological tests when appropriate; order laboratory tests and evaluate results.
- Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists and other health care providers.
- Maintain electronic medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events
- Update job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Consult with patient collateral contacts when appropriate (prior psychiatrists, family members)
- Electronically prescribe medications
- Data tracking: Assignment of appropriate assessment scales, and review with patient during appointments
- Communicate directly with patients regarding urgent needs (i.e. medication side effects, acute symptoms)
- Treat patients with a broad range of psychiatric illnesses
- Must be comfortable prescribing controlled substances when medically appropriate

Requirements:
- Mission driven to provide equal care to everyone, and ability to convey compassion and warmth over telehealth
- High degree of emotional and cognitive intelligence
- Very comfortable seeing ADHD patients, prescribing controlled substances when appropriate.
- Tech savvy and/or a fast learner of technology.
- Have outpatient experience in a private practice setting, seeing and treating patients as primary point of contact, for at least one year with at least one year of experience with outpatient child/adolescent population
- Must have an active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license, CA DEA and furnishing number at time of application, along with DEA. No J1 visa candidates. No recruiters.
- Multi-state licensing preferred.
- Multilingual is a plus
- 3 references, including one from outpatient practice collaborating MD
