About Job

Full time positions supporting elementary and middle school, or high school age students with moderate/severe disabilities including students Autism Spectrum Disorder and other complex needs in a public day school setting.

Responsibilities Include:

Facilitating communication and collaboration between school staff, parents, and external service providers to ensure students receive appropriate supportConnecting students and families with community resourcesComplete needed reports, paperwork and job-related assignments in a timely mannerMonitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for studentsEvaluate students for services through data collection, teacher reports, observations, checklists and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)Develop appropriate behavior support plans, social skills curriculum and ensure consistency in programmingOversee the development of data-collection and behavioral procedures in order to monitor target behaviors and student progressEnsure ABA strategies, behavior plans, and reinforcement systems are implemented consistently and accurately across all settingsSupport teachers/staff regarding behavioral management plans/proceduresProvide teachers/staff with resources, tools, and modeling of techniquesWork with students 1:1 or in small groupsParticipate in district offered professional development

Preferred Skills:

School based experience preferredAbility to assist in providing guidance and oversight of school wide behavioral management system as well as individualized behavior plansPossesses a strong belief that all students can learn and be successful in schoolDemonstrates a mindset that focuses on assets & growth, as opposed to deficitsAbility to demonstrate competence in behavior management skillsWillingness to try various approaches, depending on student needAbility to collaborate and communicate effectively with other special education staff and other colleagues in a professional mannerExcellent organizational and time management skillsUtilize data and reflection to plan for supports and interventionsAbility to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problemsAbility to create graphic visuals of student data in programs such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • BCBA Certification

  • Building principal and special education team administrator
  • Director of Special Education & Special Education Coordinator
