About Job

Southern Maryland Criminal Defense is seeking an Intake Coordinator to bolster our team.

We are a small, two-attorney criminal law practice representing clients in Southern Maryland and Prince George’s County with our main office in White Plains, MD.

We are committed to providing responsive, compassionate, and aggressive representation for our clients. We’re looking for a dependable and personable Intake Coordinator to be the first point of contact for prospective clients — someone who can make a strong first impression and help us deliver an exceptional client experience from the very beginning.

As our Intake Coordinator, you will play a vital role in converting potential clients into retained clients. You’ll answer incoming calls, follow up with leads, gather important case information, and coordinate consultations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate data on potential new clients and guiding them through the process to convert them to retained clients. This is a hybrid position, with 2.5 days per week spent in-office and 2.5 days remote. No legal experience is required, but strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Position Details:

  • Work Model: Hybrid (2.5 days in-office, 2.5 days remote)
  • Salary: $42,000 to $50,000 annually
  • Education: Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience: Strong administration and client relationship skills required; legal experience not strictly necessary

  • Technology: Must be very comfortable with technology as our office is paperless

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to incoming calls, web inquiries, and referrals
  • Schedule and confirm appointments and consultations
  • Reduce “no-shows” for consultations through effective communication
  • Collect and input client information accurately into our CRM system
  • Follow up with prospective clients to ensure timely engagement
  • Lead re-marketing efforts at past clients, such as newsletter preparation
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
