There is an open position in the Georgetown Public Schools.POSITION: School PsychologistLOCATION: DistrictwideSUPERVISOR: Director of Student ServicesANNUAL SALARY: Salary and benefits per Georgetown Education Association contract.START DATE: start of the 2025/2026 School Year (August 2025)WORK YEAR: 184 days, the school year & professional development daysJOB DESCRIPTIONThe successful candidate will have a background to focus on assessing students to determine whether or not they have a disability, and to gather information regarding specific learning styles. The candidate will work with other specialists to develop and assist in implementing specialized instruction for students with disabilities across content areas. The school psychologist is expected to provide high-quality assessment,counseling, and social skills instruction to students while assisting in the development and implementation of instructional programs to meet individual student needs.

This individual will work under the general supervision of the director of student services, building principal, and/or another designated administrator. The individual hired for this position will show strong skills in both formative and standardized assessment, andevaluation of student achievement. Most importantly, the individual will be able to build strong relationships with students in order to understand different learning styles, promote social emotional learning, and appreciate diversity.This individual will work under the general supervision of the director of student services, building principal, and/or another designated administrator. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate should: Be energetic, motivated individual to work with collaboratively with the grade level team members.Have a strong background in the content area and be familiar with responsive classroom strategies.Be passionate and enthusiastic educator who can motivate students to discover their creative potential.QUALIFICATIONSMasters Degree required, Certificate Of Advanced Studies preferred.MA DESE certification as a School Psychologist.Experience working with students with special needs in a public school setting preferred.Knowledge of E-Sped and IEP writing.Expertise in administering standardized testing.Professional understanding of student learning styles.Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues.Knowledge of best practices regarding social emotional learning.Strong assessment skills and knowledge of specialized service delivery models.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a mustSALARY & BENEFITSPer agreement between the Georgetown School Committee and Georgetown Education Association.Eligible for health insuranceContractual sick days and personal days
